What is Rosacea?
Rosacea, formerly called acne rosacea is a chronic inflammatory congestion of the cheeks and nose. It is characterized by redness, dilation of the blood vessels and the formation of papulas and pustules. The face will have a flushed appearance and can sometimes become dry in spots.
Rosacea is not the same type of skin condition that appears during adolescence becayse it usually does not appear before the age of 35. Rosacea can be aggravated by consumption of to much alcohol, heavily spiced foods, irritating cleansing products, heat and cold and exposure to sunlight.
